We work in a number of UK prisons to support people who have problems with substance use, have additional social care needs, and who need housing, monetary or employment advice to help them prepare for release.

Support with substance use
We support people in prisons to consider the effects of their drug use on their own and other people’s lives and use psychosocial interventions to encourage people to make positive changes in their behaviour. Our aim is to enable individuals to stop or reduce their drug taking so as to reduce the harm to them and help prevent their reoffending.
Services are delivered through one-to-one and group work and cover topics such as drug and alcohol awareness, relapse prevention, harm minimisation - including overdose advice and testing for blood borne viruses - healthy living skills and relaxation techniques.
Support for families
We also work with individuals with a history of offending and their families to help rebuild damaged family relationships and support families to remain together. We employ a dedicated family worker at HMP Belmarsh.
Prison social care
We deliver prison social care in HMP Belmarsh, HMP Isis and HMP Thameside providing a wide range of domestic and personal care to people in prison. Key activities include collecting meals, assisting with mobility and access, helping with personal hygiene, cell cleaning and helping clients to take medication.
Support with budgeting, employment and housing
Working with individuals in prison to plan for their release back into the community is also an important element of our support. This involves preparing people for release and also ensuring that there is continuity of care and treatment in the community when they get out.
We work with the following prisons as part of the HMPPS CFO3 programme : HMP Brixton, HMP Bure, HMP Hollesley Bay, HMP Isis, HMP Littlehey, HMP Pentonville, HMP Peterborough, HMP Wandsworth, HMP Warren Hill, HMP Wayland, YOI Cookham Wood, and YOI Feltham.
