Coventry Drug and Alcohol Service

Change Grow Live Coventry partners with several organisations to provide support to families, friends and carers.

Support groups

Loving an Addict: Peer support group

The Loving an Addict family group uses talking as a form of therapy for people affected by someone else's drug or alcohol use. It aims to provide a safe and confidential place to ‘offload’, and a chance to feel heard and valued by people with stories similar to your own.

Our volunteer Poonam runs this group. You can find out more and book a place by contacting her directly:

Adfam

Adfam offers one-one support sessions to adults living in Coventry who are affected by a loved one’s drug or alcohol use.

These sessions allow you to explore how your loved one’s drug or alcohol use is affecting you and to get support in making changes, if you wish.

Adfam’s experienced workers listen to you and can work through a range of topics that other people in similar situations have found helpful. They will work with you to plan a way forward and may suggest further support or advice if this will help.

These sessions are offered via Zoom or by phone.

For an initial call or to find out more, visit the Adfam website.
