We support people living in Birmingham to make positive changes and live healthier, happier lives.

Our team helps you break free from harmful patterns of behaviour and work towards what matters most to you. We provide personalised drug and alcohol support, tailored to your individual needs and goals. Whether you prefer one-to-one support or group sessions, we’ll work alongside you every step of the way to help you reach your potential.

Our services also include medical treatment, such as substitute prescribing and medication to support relapse prevention.

We offer needle exchange services, providing harm reduction advice, blood-borne virus testing, naloxone training, and access to other essential support services.

You can find us at our hubs in North, Central and West hub (Newtown), East Birmingham, South Birmingham and the City Centre (Lonsdale). We also deliver support in the community, so wherever you live in Birmingham, help is available.

We have specialist support including a Homeless and Rough sleeper team, a Women’s and Families team, a Criminal Justice team, a Buvidal and Prison leaver team, a Veteran’s team, an IPS (Employment) team, and the Hospitals team. Transfers to our specialist teams are on a case-by-case basis.

Your first visit

A friendly member of staff will be at reception to greet you. If you're waiting for a group or appointment, you'll wait in our reception. There are places to sit and leaflets to read. If you'd like, you can bring a friend or family member for support.

Our welcome groups

We run opiate and alcohol welcome groups. In the groups, you'll learn what to expect from us during your treatment journey and can ask us questions.

These are small groups for people who are new to the service and ready to start treatment. We know it can feel daunting, so if you'd like to bring someone with you, please do.

Employment support

If employment is part of your recovery, we can help. We believe everyone is capable of doing some work if they want to, and we will support you with this.

Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is an evidence-based service that matches people with work that they want to do.

Our support is available if you are aged 18-65 and in treatment at Change Grow Live.

To find out more, speak to your Recovery Coordinator. You can also email [email protected] or call 0121 227 5890 to refer yourself or for more information.

Visit our IPS page to find out more about our employment support services.
