How we’re getting involved with Dry January

Dry January is an annual movement where millions of people give up alcohol for the month of January. It’s run by the charity Alcohol Change UK. There are many reasons people try it. Maybe you want to reset your relationship with alcohol. Maybe you want to see the health benefits it brings. Maybe you want to boost your energy and reduce your waistline.

Whatever the reason, we’re here to support you if you want to get involved with Dry January. Before you do, it’s important to make sure you know how to do it safely. We only suggest you get involved with Dry January if you’re a moderate drinker. If you are physically dependant on alcohol, it can be dangerous to stop drinking suddenly. To find out more about your drinking, take our quick online alcohol quiz.

If you’ve made the decision to take part in Dry January and would like support, there are a few ways we can help you. We have an online support programme called Breaking Free Online. It’s a free online programme that provides positive coping mechanisms that are proven to work. Head to the Breaking Free Online website to sign up. Give us a call on 01603 514096 or email us [email protected] to ask for an access code.

We’re also looking for people to contribute to a Dry January Blog. If you’re going to be signing up for Dry January this year and are interested in sharing your experiences (anonymously if you want), please do email [email protected].
