We know that recovery is about more than just drugs or alcohol. Practical challenges like housing, finances, or adjusting to life after prison can make things feel harder.

We’re here to support you with these challenges, so you can focus on moving forward.

Support for people leaving prison

Our Prison Leavers Project is delivered by Empowerment and supports people returning to Blackpool after time in prison.

We know that leaving prison can feel overwhelming. That’s why we begin working with the people we support before their release, helping to prepare for life outside. On the day people leave, we can meet them at the gate and continue supporting them as they settle back into the community.

Our Lived Experience Navigators understand these challenges first-hand. They can help with appointments, accessing any support that may be needed, and providing ongoing encouragement and support.

Our aim is to help people leaving prison to feel more confident, reduce the risk of re-offending, and build a more stable future.
