Feedback from our workshops with Emerging Futures

Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, our behavioural change programme, Foundations of Recovery, has moved online. We run these workshops with our partners, Emerging Futures. The programme takes the form of structured group workshops, and work on identifying your strengths and how you can use them to build your own recovery.

Our latest round of feedback has just come in. One participant said:

It took a lot of courage for me to step into the first workshop, but the Emerging Future staff were warm, friendly and genuine. It felt like, at last, I had found the place where I could begin to recover. For the first time in years I felt a part of something, I felt valued and understood.

The workshops also help our service users learn positive coping skills. One of our service users said:

Emerging Futures has helped me to stay clean following a relapse. I now take more pride in my appearance and workshops have helped me build up my confidence. I am now able to leave my house without anxiety crippling me and I am taking small steps to find hobbies I enjoy doing in place of misusing substances.
