Young People's Service - Derbyshire
Refer yourself
The referral form below asks the key questions that we need to know to set someone up with the right support.
We welcome referrals from young people, family, friends and professionals. We will need the person’s consent if you are contacting us on their behalf.
We can provide specialist support for young people who want to make changes to their drug or alcohol use.
There is no set number of sessions or timescale that we work to in these cases; that will depend on what the young person feels they need support with and how they progress with those goals.
If the young person does not see their use as problematic, or is not ready to make changes, then we can provide some targeted work. This typically includes a maximum of two sessions where we share information and education around effects of substances; and harm reduction advice focusing on ways to stay safe.
If a young person is under the age of 13, we will need consent from a parent or carer.
Once we receive your referral, someone from our team will be in touch to set up an in-person chat with the young person you referred.
We know that you might have a lot of questions and might be unsure what the next step to getting help is. If you’d like to speak to us about your concerns and want to find out more about how we can help, please get in touch.
