Free products, advice and support to help you stop smoking for good
Whether it’s for your health, for your kids, to save money, or something else, you're more likely to succeed if you get support.
If you are currently a service user with Aspire Recovery Service, our Smoke Free programme offers:
- One-to-one support to find the best way to stop smoking for you
- Free stop smoking aids like nicotine patches or mini lozenges, and free vape starter kits and liquids
- Encouragement and advice to help you as you quit
Your stop smoking journey
When you join the service, you'll chat with a member of our specially trained team. They'll get to know you and find out what support you want with quitting.
The process is:
- You will have an initial, 45 to 60-minute face-to-face assessment.
- Follow-up appointments are usually every two weeks but can occasionally be more frequent if needed. They last between 10 to 30 minutes.
- The programme usually runs for 12 to 16 weeks but can be extended if you need further support.
- In most cases, we give any nicotine replacement therapy (patches/gums) or vape supplies to you at your appointments. Alternatively, some vape supplies may be delivered to your home. You don't need to go anywhere to collect it.
You don't need a prescription or a GP appointment. Our team arranges everything.
Your stop smoking advisor
You’ll have a dedicated advisor to help you achieve your goals. They’ll get to know you and find out what support you'd like with quitting.
You will usually meet face-to-face, though some appointments can be done over the phone.
If you have a slip up, your advisor won't judge. Quitting may take a few attempts; all that matters is that you keep on trying.
Your advisor will talk to you about:
- Why you're quitting. Knowing your 'why' and identifying your goals helps you stay focused.
- Habits and cravings. We all have smoking routines, like having a cigarette first thing in the morning, with a cup of tea, or after meals. This is when you'll be most tempted, so they'll help you come up with a plan for what to do.
- Staying motivated. They will cheer you on and help you stay motivated when things are tough.
The idea of setting a date to suddenly stop smoking can be intimidating and sometimes puts people off trying. While it’s a good method for some, many people don’t feel ready for this.
Cutting down gradually can also be an effective way of quitting.
Our advisors will find out which method you are most comfortable with and can support you in a way that works for you. No pressure, just support.
Get free stop smoking aids
We offer a range of stop smoking aids: nicotine patches, gum, mini lozenges and vapes.
You're more likely to be successful if you use one or more stop smoking aids, and you can get them for free as part of your quit plan.
We will help you find the right ones for you if you're not sure which to choose.
All our nicotine replacement therapy medications and vapes are free. Most are handed to you at your appointments, and we may offer free home delivery for vape supplies.
