New Direction Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service - Lewisham
Our team will ensure you feel supported and take time to understand the issues that may be impacting your drug or alcohol use.
We offer one-to-one support, specialist groups, and LGBTQ+-specific wellbeing activities.
Chemsex support
Are you going to too many chills? Does sober sex feel daunting? Is your substance use starting to feel unmanageable?
Our chemsex worker can support you with your individual needs and goals – whether you’re looking to cut down, stop, or better understand your use.
We offer:
- Regular one-to-one sessions
- A weekly chemsex support group
- Structured support to change substance use
- Access to funded detox and rehab where appropriate
LGBTQ+ groups and community
Our chemsex worker is also the LGBTQ+ Lead at CGL Lewisham and facilitates two LGBTQ+-specific groups:
LGBTQ+ peer support group
A welcoming space to connect with others, share experiences, and support one another in recovery.
Rainbow wellbeing group
A group focused on wellbeing, connection, and building a positive recovery journey.
We have built a strong and growing community of LGBTQ+ people in recovery and welcome anyone who would like to join us.
LGBTQ+ outings and activities
We also organise regular LGBTQ+ outings, including trips to museums, the cinema, and other cultural spaces, offering opportunities to socialise and connect in supportive, substance-free environments.
