STAR Drug and Alcohol Service - East Sussex
When someone is using drugs or alcohol, it can have a big impact on their families, friends and wider networks. The specialist organisations below provide information, peer support and structured programmes designed to help those affected by a loved one’s substance use or related issues.
In addition, STAR will soon offer SMART meetings for friends and family members in our hubs in Hastings and Eastbourne and our Recovery Café.

Adfam
National charity working to improve life for families affected by drugs and/or alcohol. Adfam's website has fantastic resources for the whole family and individual relationships impacted by their loved one's drug/alcohol use.

Al-anon
Al-Anon Family Groups is a "worldwide fellowship that offers a program of recovery for the families and friends of alcoholics, whether or not the alcoholic recognizes the existence of a drinking problem or seeks help." Alateen "is part of the Al-Anon fellowship designed for the younger relatives and friends of alcoholics through the teen years".
