Addiction affects not only individuals but also their families, friends, and wider support networks. Below is a selection of specialist organisations providing information, peer support, and structured programmes designed to help those affected by a loved one’s substance use or related issues.

Adfam
National charity working to improve life for families affected by drugs and alcohol. Adfam have a great website with fantastic resources for the whole family and individual relationships impacted by their loved one's drug/alcohol use.

Al-anon
Al-Anon Family Groups is a "worldwide fellowship that offers a program of recovery for the families and friends of alcoholics, whether or not the alcoholic recognizes the existence of a drinking problem or seeks help." Alateen "is part of the Al-Anon fellowship designed for the younger relatives and friends of alcoholics through the teen years".

Co-Dependents Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women whose common purpose is to develop healthy relationships. The only requirement for membership is a desire for healthy and loving relationships.

Families Anonymous Meetings are for Families and Friends of those with a Drug or Related Problem.
