Sacha - Independent Visitor

A photo of a women standing in front of a brick wall. She has ginger hair tied into two pigtails and is wearing a black top with a white pattern on I'm 33 and I have been an Independent Visitor for over a year now. I like visiting new places, music and cooking. I wanted to become an Independent Visitor because I wanted to make a difference and I felt I had a lot to give.

I have supported by always listening and ensuring they feel comfortable with me. By promoting skills that give them confidence to do new things that they may have felt anxious about before, such as paying for something in a shop.

I think it makes a big difference to the young people but also the volunteers. I think I get as much as out it as she does, and we both look forward to doing new things together.

I enjoy seeing the young person grow in confidence and come out of her shell it so lovely to see.

I love to experience new things together and sometimes learn new things too.

She is growing in confidence every time I see her and putting herself out of her comfort zone in little ways which is brilliant.
