Breaking Free Online is making an impact in lockdown

In the last few months, a huge amount of people using our service number have signed up to our online recovery support programme. Breaking Free Online is a recovery support programme that helps you recover from problematic drug or alcohol use. It’s based on research and you can access it from a smartphone or computer.

In March, there were 10 new accounts activated, which tripled to 33 in April. The coronavirus pandemic has meant we’ve all had to change the way we do things, and for a lot of people who use our service, this meant accessing our online support.

In August, around two thirds of our service users using Breaking Free reported an improvement in their mental health. Three in five also reported an improvement in their level of dependency of drugs and alcohol.

It’s also provided people with great support when they can’t get in touch with us. Just over half the time spent on Breaking Free was outside our normal service hours.

Breaking Free Online is offered as part of a support package for people we help. If you want to sign up, speak to your Recovery Coordinator, or give us call on 01603 514096.
