    Following last year’s amazing Inspire Christmas Pantomime, this year they are building on the success of the show and putting on a free Christmas extravaganza.

    The 'Spirit of Christmas' is an exciting Christmas Show produced by Inspire Substance Misuse Service East Lancashire . 

    It is a two hour show comprising of acts from different community groups who have come together to celebrate the 'Spirit of Christmas'.

    On Saturday 26th September 2015 twelve members of Team Inspire took part in Born Survivor - a gruelling assault course over 10km, featuring 31 obstacles, designed by the Royal Marines to test even the fittest individuals.

    Born Survivor is a team event, with each team having to work together and support each other through every single obstacle, finishing the event as a team.

    I was interested to see some of the announcements made at the Conservative Party Conference about the intentions to fundamentally review the current prison estate.

    I welcome the stated intention to close some of the antiquated Victorian establishments and the intention to replace them with modern developments constructed to better meet the rehabilitative needs of today's prison population. This will require decent healthcare facilities, provision of well resourced educational opportunities and world class recovery and rehabilitative interventions.

    Watching the widespread news coverage this week about the closure of Kids Company gave me the opportunity to pause and reflect about some of the core 'business principles' operated within Change Grow Live (CGL) since I joined in 1999. 'Finance first' has been a guiding business principle for all Change Grow Live managers.

    I make no comment about Kids Company and do not have any insights into the internal operating of that charity, its management, nor its governance.
