The aim of The Alcohol Service is to meet the changing alcohol needs of residents in the borough and to bridge the gap between the level of vulnerable adults needing treatment and the actual numbers of them accessing it. The service delivers a range of support, including prevention, specialist community treatment and hospital liaison.
The Volunteer Counsellor will carry a small caseload and will provide counselling for individuals with Alcohol problems and establish and manage the counselling relationship. You will work with individuals to identify and explore their concerns while reviewing options and assisting individuals to decide on a course of action. To support in the day to day running of the Alcohol Service.
As a Volunteer Counsellor you will be delivering the aims and objectives of cgl and working to BACP (British Associations of Counselling and Psychotherapy) guidelines.
