East Sussex drug and alcohol recovery service (STAR) - Eastbourne & Hastings
We are a free dedicated drug and alcohol community recovery service.
We are commissioned to deliver drug and alcohol services across East Sussex working with the local community and partnership agencies to achieve best outcomes for the service users that we work with.
We offer opportunities for volunteers and peer mentors to enhance our service and service user experience.
What we do and how we do it
We are a drug and alcohol recovery service commissioned to work with people from the age of 18 upwards.
We offer a range of services working in partnership with a range of agencies working to achieve positive outcomes for our service users.

Or you can just drop in and we will arrange for one of our specialist recovery workers to offer you some support and book you an appointment for more extensive assessment and treatment if necessary.
We have two main hubs in Hastings and Eastbourne:

We take referrals from all sources or self referrals and from all professional agencies.
If you want to contact us yourself you can phone on 0300 3038 160 or just walk in and speak to one of our specialist recovery workers in the service.
Can't attend your appointment?
Please phone on 0300 3038 160. All of our staff have mobile phones so you are able to text them when necessary.
Use the drop in service by popping in to speak to a specialist recovery worker.

We have services across East Sussex.
The Hastings service is based in Thrift house in Hastings town centre, Wellington place next door to the Nationwide building society..
Sorry we do not have a car park but the nearest car park at the rear of Castle Parade a 2 minute walk from the service.
Hastings train station is a 5 minute walk away and local bus services run regularly to the town centre.
Our front door is easy to find, and we’re right next door to the East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

Eastbourne train station is a 5 minute walk away and local bus services run regularly to the town centre.
We offer satellite services across East Sussex. Please contact the main service on 0300 3038 160 and we will provide details regarding access our satellite services.

We also run a breakfast club and organise many other recovery opportunities. Please come in to the service and see what is available to aid you and your recovery from drug or alcohol misuse.
