1625OUTREACH is commissioned by Derbyshire County Council and Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner, and delivered by CGL (Change, Grow, Live). The service was commissioned in response to requirements for a specific harm reduction based service, which tackles changing drug trends and drinking cultures amongst 16 to 25-year-olds across Derbyshire.
Targeting specifically; night-time economy, festivals, further and higher education, and specialist community outreach.
Who we are
We are a specialist harm reduction drug and alcohol service for 16 to 25 year-olds across Derbyshire. Our team of qualified staff provide specialist information, advice and signposting to individuals across Derbyshire in relation to drugs and alcohol. We also offer support and information relating to sexual health and general health promotion whilst working in partnership with other agencies to provide additional support to individuals where required.
Our service is free, confidential and non-judgemental. We support individuals to make informed choices about drugs and alcohol and provide them with appropriate information and guidance to reduce risk and potential harms. Our ultimate aim is for individuals engaging with the service to stay aware, safe and well.
What we offer
1625OUTREACH offers information and advice in relation to drugs and alcohol and provides support to individuals to prevent them moving from using substances on an experimental or occasional basis to using them regularly and excessively. The service also provides information and support with sexual health, general health promotion, and support to stay aware, safe and well.
We target the following 4 settings:
• Night Time Economy
• Festivals & Organised Events
• Further and Higher Education Establishments
• Settings of concern in local communities
The Service is delivered from both a mobile unit and ‘stall’ based approach, additionally, in some settings staff provide outreach on foot. We also work actively with digital engagement and provide information, signposting and support via social media, we also use digital platforms to advertise our whereabouts and current initiatives and focuses of the service.
