Partnership working

We have strong relationships with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and Cocaine Anonymous (CA), who deliver regular meetings at our sites to offer additional support to those who need it.

We also deliver SMART (Self-Management and Recovery Training) programmes to help individuals develop their skills and empower themselves. This helps participants make changes to their behaviour and lifestyle to support their sustained recovery.

Our Family and Carers service

People in recovery can feel isolated but understanding and encouragement from close friends and family can lay the foundations for change.

We educate family and carers so that they can understand how some of the difficulties of recovery and prison can affect their loved one. Our dedicated Family Workers offer support each step of the way and within the wider community to give them an understanding of the challenges their loved one faces. We also highlight the importance of using naloxone if and when needed.

We also deliver family and carers days that focus on both the individual and their families and explore the impactful lived experiences of mentors and people engaging with our services in HMPPS.

Foundations of Rehabilitation Programme

In our training prisons, we run the Foundations of Rehabilitation Programme which encourages people to consider what a life without substances could look like.

Our specialist Programme Workers also run group sessions tailored to individual needs to support people with their journey.

Continuity of Care

At Change Grow Live, we support the people engaging with us at point of entry and through their recovery journey, whether that is after transfer to another site or released into the community. Our dedicated Through The Gates workers support this process.

We are pleased that our Continuity of Care rates are steadily improving as we build strong and effective links with community partners.
