What About Me is a free and confidential service for young people aged 8 - 18 who are affected by someone else’s drug or alcohol use in Sheffield.

We are a team of specialist workers who won’t judge or tell you what to do, we are here to listen and support you. We are an outreach service, and we are more than happy to visit you wherever it is most convenient for you. We can meet you at your home, in school/college, at a local library or anywhere else that you feel comfortable.

How to contact us

We always welcome new clients, so please get in touch if you are interested in getting help from the service or you’d just like to ask some questions. Feel free to bring someone with you on your first visit.

We are based at 91 Division Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S1 4GE. You can call us on 0114 275 2051 or email us on thecorner.sheffield@cgl.org.uk.

Referral

If you would like to refer yourself or someone else to the service you can call, email or visit the service in person.

We provide:

  • Free and confidential support for young people affected by the hidden harm of parental/carer/significant other substance misuse.

  • Space to talk about your feelings and experiences, in a safe environment with someone who understands the nature of substance misuse in families. We will work with you to explore your feelings around home and family, coping skills and support you around building positive selfesteem and resilience.

  • 1-2-1 key worker sessions.

  • Group work sessions where you can meet other young people that might be going through similar experiences as you.

  • Finding out more about drugs and alcohol – answering any questions you might have.

  • Advice and information for parents, carers and professionals.

  • A gateway to other support services in the city

  • Alcohol and addiction workshops
