Street outreach services

homelessness illustration green

Our street outreach services work with the vulnerable people who are sleeping rough on our streets, many of whom have additional needs including mental health problems and drug or alcohol dependencies. We work to understand the complex reasons why someone might be sleeping rough, and provide support tailored to their needs, whether that’s getting them back in touch with their family, or helping them address traumatic experiences from their past.

Support we can offer:

  • Helping rough sleepers into safe and secure accommodation, and support maintaining their tenancy
  • Access to expert recovery support for those suffering from a drug or alcohol addiction
  • Access to expert medical support, including counselling and mental health services
  • Support for vulnerable women and men to exit street-based sex working
  • Education, employment and financial advice
  • Support for Eastern European nationals with no recourse to public funds (certain services only)
  • Help reducing antisocial behaviour such as begging and street-based drug and alcohol use

Worried about someone?

If you’re concerned about someone sleeping rough, please let us know by contacting your local homelessness and accommodation service here. You can also use the Street Link website and app to notify the local authority that someone is sleeping rough in their area, and they can put them in touch with local support services.

If you’re experiencing antisocial behaviour

If you’re being affected by antisocial behaviour caused by rough sleepers you can contact your local authority for help and advice. You can also contact our street outreach teams directly who will work with the authorities to try and resolve the situation. For more information, the Citizens Advice Bureau has comprehensive guidance on managing different kinds of antisocial behaviour.
