CGL Norfolk is a free and confidential alcohol and drug behaviour change support service for adults and their families in Norfolk. We provide a range of recovery focused interventions designed to meet the needs of those experiencing substance misuse issues.

Rewarding opportunities have arisen to join the behaviour change service as a Recovery Support Volunteer in our Norwich, Thetford and King’s Lynn offices.

This exciting opportunity offers a chance to gain knowledge and experience working within the substance misuse field and to enhance your CV.

We are looking for volunteers who have at least two days per week available. You should have a good understanding of substance misuse and the challenges people face in their recovery. Lived experience of recovery would be an advantage but is not essential.

You will be open-minded to the range of recovery opportunities available and champion recovery with optimism and a ‘can-do’ attitude as you support people entering service.

Change, Grow, Live (CGL) are committed to creating an inclusive environment, which celebrates difference and allows our staff and service users to flourish. We recruit the very best staff from a wide range of backgrounds, ensuring our service users benefit from our diverse skills and expertise. We always work to the principles of fairness and equality of opportunity in all our recruitment processes.

We also expect an assertive approach to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, young people and adults, and applicants to these posts will need to demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to best safeguarding practice.
