STEP is a service which works across Pennine Lancashire, supporting high intensity individuals who frequently access NHS services, including:

Local emergency departments

111 phone line

North West Ambulance Service

GP services

Mental Health Wards

Urgent Care

Staff work in conjunction with partner agencies to support individuals to reduce their use of NHS services by looking at their physical, social & mental health needs and establishing an individual support plan.

We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly volunteers for our Public Living Room which runs every Saturday 11am – 2pm at Inspire House, Blackburn. By working in the community, we support STEP service users as well as the public in a non-judgemental and open setting, providing lunch, various activities & training to those who attend. Volunteers will work in an open setting, supporting and arranging different activities during the sessions, as well as working closely with other staff & volunteers.

By volunteering with the STEP team, individuals will gain experience in working with vulnerable service users in a health & social care setting, working with various external agencies within a dynamic national charity. Volunteers also complete a high quality training package and received ongoing support from their supervisor and service volunteer coordinator.

Change Grow Live are committed to creating an inclusive environment, which celebrates difference and allows our staff and service users to flourish.  We recruit the very best staff from a wide range of backgrounds, ensuring service users benefit from our diverse skills and expertise. We always work to the principles of fairness and equality of opportunity in all our recruitment processes.

We also expect an assertive approach to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, young people and adults, and applicants to these posts will need to demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to best safeguarding practice.
