We have an exciting opportunity to join the Aspire Drug & Alcohol Recovery Service in delivering high quality, responsive recovery focussed interventions in a brand new role as an Outreach Recovery Coordinator.

Duties will include: In conjunction with Peterborough City Council’s Rough Sleepers Outreach Team, your role will be to engage and support the homeless and rough sleepers of the city into the support and treatment offered by the Aspire drug & alcohol recovery service. Your time will be split between street outreach with the RSO team (which requires an early start to the day), attending community venues which already offer day-to-day support to Peterborough’s homeless, and time at Aspire to support the client’s early engagement into the various treatment pathways available at Aspire.

You will need to carry out assessments, drug test and attend the service user’s first appointments with the doctor and nurse as required. Complete safeguarding assessments and referrals if needed. Signposting and referring clients on to further support where appropriate. Offer harm minimisation advice and brief interventions including needle exchange, naloxone provision, and blood borne virus advice & information and Dry Blood Spot Testing (DBST).

The successful candidate will ideally have an awareness of substance misuse issues; have professional interpersonal skills and a positive approach to facilitating recovery for all our service users.
