Gateshead adult treatment services is an integrated drug treatment service providing structured treatment and recovery support for those experiencing problems with drugs or drugs and alcohol. The service provides a range of interventions including open access, harm minimisation, assertive engagement, recovery focused, clinical and psychosocial interventions and recovery support in response to criminal justice and community pathways.
The Recovery Service aims to increase the number of substance misusing clients entering and successfully completing treatment, reduce substance related harm and improve the quality of life for clients, their families and communities
We are seeking to recruit an experienced non medical prescriber to work alongside our Doctor in prescribing suitable substitute/detoxification prescribing. The post holder will work as part of a multi disciplinary recovery team to provide advice on medication and substance misuse, enabling the clients to access medical care, review medication regimes and assist in the process of referrals for aftercare. The post holder will work within CGL’s medically assisted recovery model.
The successful candidate will need to be motivated, enthusiastic, committed and driven in order to meet the expectations of this challenging role. They will proactively contribute to service delivery and development in order to support in all aspects of partnership and strategic objectives. The role requires a commitment to quality in governance and practice, and excellent communication skills.
