CGL Nottingham is a confidential integrated family and young person service, we work with young people up to the age of 18 who are using or are impacted by someone else’s drug and alcohol use. We also work with families who have been impacted by someone else’s drug and alcohol use. The service works in a holistic way and works closely with local partners in ensuring a multi-agency approach to supporting our service users across the city.
We are looking for dynamic and passionate individuals who want to support families who are impacted by substance use in Nottingham City.
As an IMPACT Group support volunteer you will be supporting the children and families workers to run a 5 step approach (run over a 6 week programme) by keeping in touch with adult clients attending the group sessions.
You will be asked to support the clients by having telephone conversations around what has come out of the group sessions for them individually. You will also be asked to support the clients in preparing for participation in group work and building their confidence.
It is essential that you are willing to participate in accurate record keeping and feeding back to your supervising children and family worker.
This role has the potential to be a short term volunteer position however the group runs 6 weeks at a time 3 times a year so in the periods when the IMPACT group is not running there will be admin support and advertisement that you may be interested in completing.
This role may be particularly interesting for those who have lived experience of family members using substances.
