CGL deliver specialist engagement, assessment, referral, prescribing and recovery planning services as part of the Bromley Drug and Alcohol Service. The project is responsible for delivering a combination of community based services aimed at helping people recover from drug and alcohol problems. The service aims to enable their rapid entry into and retention in structured treatment and movement on to recovery services. Bromley Drug and Alcohol Service has fully implemented Foundations of Recovery as a treatment model and has been successful incorporated POD working as its method of delivering high quality interventions and positive treatment out comes.

We are recruiting for a Health and Wellbeing Nurse to join our team. They will have a focus on improving the health of service users through health assessments, blood borne virus screening, and vaccinations, supporting the safe provision of opiate replacement therapy, and the facilitation of community alcohol detoxification.

Alongside a focus on improvements in the health of service users, the successful applicants will also be a resource to colleagues who support service users with complex additional needs.

The successful applicants will be part of an established and dynamic service which aims to help people improve their lives. As well as providing direct interventions with service users, the successful applicant will contribute to the ongoing development of the nursing team in the service.

The role will include working flexibly maintaining the most appropriate level of service provision; this will include some evening working one day per week.

The post holder will be a Registered Nurse from either General (Adults) or Mental Health Nursing with a current NMC registration. Relevant experience in the substance misuse field would be a benefit, but the willingness to embrace and develop this role will also be of importance.

The successful post holder will need to undertake a DBS check at Enhanced Level

You need to be committed to the recovery agenda and be able to encourage clients to utilise their recovery capital within their community. We are looking for an individual who has a passion for delivering alcohol focussed interventions and to contribute to the delivery of Foundations of Recovery Elements of the treatment service.
