An exciting opportunity has arisen for a volunteer to work within Newcastle’s Drug and Alcohol Service as a Harm Reduction Worker. CGL services ensure end-to-end treatment, with a recovery service which offers a wide range of psychosocial interventions and recovery support interventions to residents 18 years and over.
The post-holder will act as a Volunteer Harm Reduction Worker providing Harm reduction advice and support to service users wanting to make changes to their life style. The role will also require you to support with needle exchange, outreach and general service duties, and engage with a range of clients who are accessing the service for advice and guidance.
As a volunteer you will have the benefit of regular supervision and will also be afforded the opportunity of personal and professional development through our various CGL training programmes.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who would like to gain experience in working in this field and/or wants to do something positive in their local community
