We are currently seeking a highly motivated family support worker to continue the existing treatment pathway of family intervention to adult male offenders and their families. This specialist role will seek to build on the recovery agenda, with an aim to reduce reoffending through the promotion of positive family relationships and preservation of family ties within a custodial setting.
The post holder will deliver a range of 1:1 and group based interventions with offenders and their families on issues specific to family engagement, maintaining connection, and promotion of social recovery capitol.
You will have a broad knowledge of existing community based family support services and will contribute to building support structures for families affected by the imprisonment of a loved one.
You will engage with service users to ensure the social and healthcare needs of them and their children are met at the earliest opportunity and provide holistic support that promotes healthier futures for all family members.
You will work within an established Family Service and alongside a dynamic team already delivering the Pathways to Recovery service within HMP Belmarsh. We are looking for a worker who is enthusiastic, innovative, and has the ability to work confidently with other agencies and professionals to further develop this post with a passion for providing quality services.
The post holder will need to have a flexible approach to their work.
