I have worked for Change Grow Live for three and a half years now. I have always worked in either the third sector or local government as it’s really important for me to feel like my job is helping to make a real change within my community. For me, even though I don’t work in operations, there is a real sense that you are making a difference to our service users' lives.
I initially joined as a Senior IT Service Desk Analyst and 6 months in I had the opportunity to apply for the IT Service Desk Team Leader role which I’ve been doing ever since. Working for an organisation that acknowledges and rewards hard work makes it all the more rewarding to come in each morning.
I currently manage a team of four analysts who act as the first point of contact for all IT related queries for our colleagues. What I really like about my job is the fast paced environment and that no two days are the same. When our colleagues call in with an issue that is stopping them from working there is a real sense of satisfaction in getting them back up and running so they can get back to focusing on helping our services users. Another thing I really enjoy about working for Change Grow Live is the diversity of our workforce, which is represented at all levels of the business. Currently, the IT team are not as reflective of this wider organisational diversity but we are working to change that. In fact, we’re recruiting for two new roles on the Service Desk and have taken the opportunity to revise both the role advert and job specification to ensure we’re making the roles as attractive to as wide an audience as possible to ensure we get the very best candidates.
