At Change Grow Live (CGL) we value the uniqueness of everyone we work with. Our aim is to empower people to regain control, change their lives, grow as a person and live life to its full potential and we are constantly striving to open our services to as many people as possible, ensuring that we treat everyone with the same compassion and understanding.

However, inclusiveness is more than just saying we are open to all, it is actually doing something to show how open and inclusive we are.

For the second year running we will be taking part in Pride in London to celebrate the amazing work we do, the incredible staff, volunteers and peer mentors who work with us and the unique and deserving service users we support on a daily basis.

Pride in London has been established for many years; in 2013 a new community group took on the running of the annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT+) event and it has continued to develop into a valuable and important opportunity to showcase the value of the LGBT+ community, as well celebrate the work of services, agencies, companies, individuals and charities that support this community.

Whilst Pride in London takes place in June, it is actually an event that spans the majority of the month with various activities being held in the capital, culminating in the Pride Parade at the end of the month. The parade has grown from a small political group demanding acceptance to one of celebration, acknowledging the achievements of this community while still championing for equality. Last year, over 1.6 million people attended the Pride in London event.

The theme for Pride in London this year is #nofilter. Challenging us all to live our lives as our true, authentic selves, something that is often very difficult (and potentially dangerous) for the LGBT+ community.

As a charity representing the voices of our service users, we have a terrific responsibility to ensure their voices are heard, as well as the voices of staff, volunteers and peer mentors. Pride is our chance to stand up and be proud of who we all are, with #nofilter.

The Pride in London parade will be held on Saturday 25th June from 1pm; the community village stall in Soho will also be available on Saturday. We are also taking part in the Pride Picnic in the Park for the first time this year on Sunday 26th June. The picnic will be held in Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens from 1pm.
