Let’s hear it for our volunteers! We’re celebrating Volunteers’ Week 2019
From the 1st to the 7th June, Change Grow Live is celebrating the work of our volunteers across the country.
Volunteers are a vital part of the work that we do. They help us to deliver our services and support 66,000 vulnerable people each day. Volunteers’ Week is an opportunity to recognise their contribution.
Between April 2018 and 2019, our volunteers donated a total of 318,622 hours to Change Grow Live, with a further 100,000 hours donated to Sova.
Supporting volunteers to grow personally and professionally is especially important to Change Grow Live – our Chief Executive, Mark Moody, began his own career in the sector as a volunteer at a needle exchange. Last year, 163 of our volunteers found employment as a result of their experience with Change Grow Live, and 192 gained new qualifications.
When Change Grow Live merged with Sova in March 2019, we gained 777 new volunteers, and a number of new volunteering roles: Independent Visitor, Appropriate Adult, and Advocate.
We couldn’t continue to help people without the support of our volunteers. Head over to the volunteering section of our website to find out what opportunities are available, look out for volunteers’ stories on our blog, Facebook and Twitter.
