Announcing CGL's new Chief Executive

30 November 2017

Mark Moody has been appointed as CGL's new Chief Executive. Mark has worked for CGL for 17 years. He first joined the charity working on the frontline in 2000 and currently holds the position of Executive Director, with responsibility for managing the charity’s health and social care services.

“Working for Change Grow Live is an absolute privilege and I am honoured to take up the position of Chief Executive, leading this fantastic organisation. I look forward to working with our staff, volunteers, commissioners and partners in continuing to deliver truly transformative services.”

Mark’s appointment follows the decision of CGL's current Chief Executive, David Biddle, to step down in 2018.

Commenting on the appointment, Mike Pringle, Chair of the CGL Board of Trustees, said:

“On behalf of the Board, I am delighted to congratulate Mark on his appointment.

Mark is, of course, well known within CGL for his immense passion and commitment to our mission. He also enjoys a strong reputation across the whole sector and I am confident that he is the best placed person to lead us as we continue to support people to transform their lives and reach their full potential.”

This is the first time that service users have been involved in the recruitment and appointment process for the charity’s new Chief Executive.

“I feel immensely privileged to have represented service users across the country in this process. Having worked closely with Mark during my time as a service user representative, I know we have appointed a person that genuinely listens and respects the views of service users. CGL is an amazing charity and this appointment will build on the real difference it makes to people’s lives.”
