Change Grow Live collaborates with The Loop to reduce drug-related harm

Innovative and potentially life-saving drug testing at festivals and nightclubs could soon be extended to city centres after a crowd-funding campaign was significantly boosted by Change Grow Live.

As the first phase in its collaboration with The Loop, a significant donation of £10,000 has been made by Change Grow Live to a crowd-funding campaign to enable the organisation to expand its drug safety testing, welfare and harm reduction services currently at nightclubs, festivals and other leisure events.

The two new pop up labs would enable The Loop to extend its work to city centres, ensuring that more people have access to potentially life-saving advice and harm reduction guidance.

The Loop has set out to raise £50,000 for two ‘pop up labs’ that would allow the organisation to expand its work whereby chemists analyse drug samples provided by club-goers, festival revellers, and others, and provide information as to the contents of various pills and powders, and offer harm reduction advice.

The two new pop up labs would enable The Loop to extend its work to city centres, ensuring that more people have access to potentially life-saving advice and harm reduction guidance.  The donation from Change Grow Live means that The Loop is now more than half-way to its fundraising target and closer to bringing its exciting plans to fruition.

Mark Moody, Chief Executive of Change Grow Live, said: “The Loop has quickly earned a name for itself as one of the most innovative and effective organisations working to reduce drug-related harm and helping to save lives. At Change Grow Live, we know that we can make the biggest difference when we pool resources and expertise with organisations whose focus and expertise complements our own, which is why our Board of Trustees has given its strong support to partnering with The Loop. With our support, they will continue to lead the way in providing drug testing, educating people about drug-related harms, and improving understanding of the substances in circulation.”
