Stockton Alcohol Service is a free and confidential alcohol service for adults.

We work with adults, aged 18 years and over, who need support around their alcohol addiction within the Stockton area. We offer advice, information, assessments, treatment options, care and support. The service consists of an alcohol specialist team, clinical nurse and counselling service. Teams are also based within the GPs and North Tees University Hospital.

How to contact us

We always welcome new clients, so please get in touch if you are interested in getting help from the service or you’d just like to ask some questions. Feel free to bring someone with you on your first visit.

If you would like to refer yourself or someone else to the service you can call or visit the service in person.

We provide:

  • 1 to 1 psychosocial sessions/group work
  • Prescribing service
  • Detoxification from alcohol
  • Counselling service
  • Alcohol Support sessions within GPs
  • Community inreach team within North Tees University Hospital
  • National Alcohol Model Programme
  • Benefits/Education Training and Employment (ETE)/housing support

What's on?

We run weekly hour-long workshops. The topics include cannabis, alcohol, sleep, anxiety, nutrition, wellbeing and stimulants.

We also run an eight-week program called Foundations of Recovery. This lasts 2 hours per week. This is a structured program that is closed to new starters once it commences.

Stockton Alcohol Service on Skinner Street is located behind Stockton High Street, head towards Dovecot Street and we are based the 3rd turn off on your left. Local bus routes are easily accessible.
