Spectrum Drug & Alcohol Recovery Service - Hatfield

Volunteering

Our volunteers provide vital support to our Hertfordshire services and to the teams they work in.

We are always grateful for anyone who can contribute their skill, time and energy to join us at Spectrum CGL.

We have 4 main locations that take on volunteers, namely Hatfield, Stevenage, Hertford and Watford.

Typical volunteer roles

  • Administrators
  • Counsellors
  • Nurses
  • Peer Mentors
  • Social Work Students

This is not an exhaustive list. We have also had Art Teachers, Cooking Group Facilitators, Writing Tutors and many other different types of volunteer.

Support we offer you

We provide training and support to all our volunteers. You will be inducted into the service by our Peer Mentor and Volunteer Coordinator and supervised by a member of staff throughout your time here. You will also receive access to our online training programme Skill Station, which offers hundreds of courses on substance misuse, recovery practice, IT, central services and much more.

If you have a particular goal you wish to pursue within this field, staff can also offer advice gleaned from their years of experience at CGL.
