At the CGL Manchester service, our teams work in partnership with service users to assess their requirements and to plan individual treatment plans and support that will help service users to address their problems and achieve their personal goals.
Our services include assessment, information and advice, treatment and referral, and are designed to meet the needs of service users who use drugs and alcohol.
As a recovery-oriented service, we try to inspire service users to work towards abstinence as a goal, and to help them appreciate the value that abstinence can bring to their health and wellbeing. However, we do believe in service user choice and will support service users on longer term treatment journeys if that’s what they choose. Respecting the wishes of our service users and creating a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment is an integral part of our ethos and service delivery.
Our hard working staff are all skilled at working with people from diverse backgrounds who have complex needs, and are passionate about providing service users with opportunities to improve their lives.
What we do and how we do it
We provide a full range of treatment and recovery interventions for people who require services for their drug or alcohol use. We do this by providing:
- Brief Interventions
- Medically assisted recovery
- Second opinions when requested by a GP
- Community detoxification
- Referral for in-patient detoxification
- Informal and structured group programmes
- Health assessments
- BBV testing
- Hepatitis B vaccinations
- Pod working
- Facilitating access to mutual aid pods
- One to one sessions with engagement and recovery workers
- Access to recovery services on site
