Many of our staff including some of our senior managers and our Chief Executive started with us as front-line workers, volunteers or peer mentors. They have been able to progress their careers through hard work and commitment, supported by many learning and development opportunities. A significant number of our paid members of staff are also former service users.
Often service users tell us that as part of their growth they would relish an opportunity to give back and, with some guidance, gain the skills and experience that will lead to a more fulfilling life. We have a number of voluntary roles available for former service users, such as Service User Representative, Recovery Coach, Peer Mentor or Volunteer, all of which have variations that enable more choices and opportunities. When a volunteer is ready to move to full-time employment, we have the role of Recovery Champion, which can help support that progression.
